Blackjack providers at betPawa

The betPawa casino lobby holds about 2,900 games, and the blackjack tables live in a category called Table & Card, which has roughly 30 titles in all. Blackjack at betPawa Nigeria comes from four studios, and each one builds its table a little differently. Knowing who made the table tells you where to look for the rules and the RTP.

Galaxsys

Supplies the plain Blackjack in the instant "Fast Games" format. The studio page lists a release date of 8 June 2021, an RTP of 99.47% and a maximum multiplier of x2.5.

TaDa Gaming

Supplies two tables: a classic Blackjack and Blackjack Lucky Ladies, which adds a side bet. The same studio also makes the Video Poker game in the same category.

Gaming Corps

Supplies BlackJack MultiHand, where you can play up to 3 hands at once. The studio page lists a release date of 24 November 2021 and an RTP of 99.46%.

Pascal Gaming

Supplies Crypto BlackJack. The studio has no public page for it, so RTP, limits and side bets are not published. Pascal Gaming also makes 777 Poker in the same category.

Hacksaw Gaming is on the list for a related reason. Its Baccarat table sits next to the blackjack tables and attracts the same crowd, since both are simple card games with a low house edge. The page for Baccarat is covered in the lobby section below.

One point worth stating plainly: betPawa does not run live-dealer tables. The card tables are RNG games you can play any time, with a virtual dealer and an instant result after every decision.

BetPawa blackjack on mobile

Most Nigerian players open betPawa on a phone, and blackjack suits a small screen better than most casino games.

You can reach the tables in three ways, and the lobby is the same in each:

  • Android app. The package is com.betpawa.androidapp.ng and you get it from the betPawa website, not from a third-party download page.
  • iOS app. Search the App Store for betPawa in the Nigerian store.
  • Mobile site. Open the betPawa website in your phone browser and choose Casino. Nothing to install, which helps if storage is tight.

A blackjack hand needs only a handful of buttons: deal, hit, stand and, where the table allows it, double or split. That is why the game fits a phone in portrait mode. In the lobby each game is a square tile, so scrolling through Table & Card with one thumb is quick, and the five blackjack tiles are easy to tell apart by their art.

The MultiHand table deserves a note. Playing up to 3 hands at once means more cards on screen, so give it a bigger window or turn the phone to landscape if the cards look small. Check the in-game info icon on any table, because the controls and the stake range are shown there.

Tip: Fund your balance before you open a table. betPawa takes OPay, PalmPay, MTN MoMo, Airtel SmartCash, bank transfer and banking apps. The payment method has to be in your own name, and credit cards are banned in the T&C.

BetPawa blackjack RTP and volatility

RTP is the share of all stakes a game returns to players over a very long run. Two blackjack tables here publish one.

99.47%Blackjack, Galaxsys
99.46%MultiHand, Gaming Corps
3 handsAt once on MultiHand

These are the studios' own figures, taken from their game pages. betPawa itself publishes no general RTP statement and only describes its games as fully certified. The TaDa Gaming tables and Crypto BlackJack have no published RTP that we could verify, so we do not give a number for them.

What 99.47% means in naira

An RTP of 99.47% leaves a house edge of 0.53%. If you stake ₦100,000 in total across many hands, the long-run expected loss is about ₦530. It is an average over a huge number of hands, not a promise for one evening. A single session can end well above or well below that figure.

Why the house edge is low

Blackjack is the one casino game where your decisions change the result. A slot has a fixed RTP whatever you press, while a blackjack table returns the high figure only if you play sensible basic strategy. In general maths, a well-played table with ordinary rules sits near a 0.5% house edge, which fits the figures above. Basic strategy is a chart of the best move for every pair of your hand and the dealer's up-card. In short:

  • Hit any hard total of 8 or less.
  • Stand on a hard 17 or higher.
  • Stand on 12 to 16 when the dealer shows a 2 to 6, and hit when the dealer shows 7 or higher.
  • Double on 11 against most dealer cards, if the table offers doubling.
  • Always split aces and eights, and never split tens.
  • Skip insurance, which is a side bet with a higher edge.

Exact moves shift a little with the number of decks and with whether the dealer hits on soft 17. betPawa does not publish decks or dealer rules for most tables, so read the in-game rules first and treat the list above as a starting point.

Payout of a natural

A natural, an ace with a ten-value card on the first two cards, normally pays 3 to 2. A table paying 6 to 5 instead raises the house edge by roughly one and a half percentage points. The x2.5 maximum multiplier on the Galaxsys page is what a 3-to-2 natural returns in total, stake included, so check the rules panel for the payout before you bet.

Volatility

Blackjack is a low-variance game compared with a slot, because most outcomes are close to even money. Swings still happen, and a run of ten losing hands is quite normal. MultiHand adds speed, since three hands settle at the same time, and speed makes your bankroll move faster in both directions.

Side bets cost more

As general maths, side bets usually carry a higher house edge than the main hand, often several percent or more. Blackjack Lucky Ladies is built around one, so enjoy it for the extra thrill, but do not count on the low edge of the main game when you add the side stake.

What is in the blackjack lobby

Filter by studio or by type and the grid below shows the tables that match.

Crypto BlackJack by Pascal Gaming is the sixth card table and has no tile here, because it has no picture in our library. Find it by name inside the Table & Card category. Its rules, RTP and limits are not published, so open the game and read the info panel before you stake.

Baccarat by Hacksaw Gaming is the one table that is not blackjack. It plays with 8 decks, a winning Player bet pays 2x, Banker pays 1.95x and Tie pays 9x. On a Tie, Player and Banker bets are returned. There are no side bets. If you like quick card rounds with simple choices, it is a natural next step.

The rest of Table & Card is video poker and poker-style slots. Those are described on the poker page, since betPawa has no player-versus-player room.

Popular blackjack titles

Here is what each table offers, based on what the studios and betPawa publish. Anything not listed is not published, so look inside the game for decks, limits and paytables.

Blackjack by Galaxsys

The simplest way into betPawa blackjack. It runs in the instant "Fast Games" format, so there is no animated dealing ritual and rounds finish quickly. It also shows the highest RTP among the published figures, 99.47%. A good first table for learning basic strategy.

Blackjack by TaDa Gaming

A classic table from a different studio. Because TaDa Gaming shows no RTP or limits on its own site, treat the rules panel in the game as your only source for payouts and deck count.

Blackjack Lucky Ladies

The same studio's version with the Lucky Ladies side bet, a wager placed alongside your main hand that pays on the first two cards. The side stake is optional. As general maths it carries a higher edge than the main game, so it suits short fun sessions rather than a grind.

BlackJack MultiHand

Gaming Corps lets you play up to 3 hands at once at a published 99.46% RTP. You spread your stake across the hands, so keep the total per round in mind, because three hands of ₦500 is ₦1,500 on the table.

Crypto BlackJack

Pascal Gaming's table is the one with the least public information. The name is the studio's, and it does not change how betPawa works: your balance is in naira and you fund it with the cashier methods above. Check the in-game info for stakes and rules.

Good to know

  • Two published RTPs above 99%
  • Tables available at any hour
  • Single-hand, multi-hand and side-bet styles

Keep in mind

  • No live dealer tables
  • Decks and limits mostly not published
  • RTP missing for three of the five tables

How to play blackjack on betPawa, round by round

Before the first hand you need an account and a balance. Sign-up asks for a phone number, a 4-digit PIN or password, your first and last name and your location. Then deposit by OPay, PalmPay, MTN MoMo, Airtel SmartCash, bank transfer or a banking app. A bank transfer through Monnify accepts ₦20 to ₦5,000,000, and PalmPay starts from ₦1. After that, a round runs like this.

BlackJack MultiHand table by Gaming Corps
The BlackJack MultiHand table from Gaming Corps, where up to 3 hands play at once.
  1. Open Table & Card

From the casino lobby open the category named Table & Card. It holds about 30 games, so look for the blackjack tiles or search for the name.

  2. Pick a table

Choose a studio you like. If you are new, start with Galaxsys: it is the plain version and the rounds are fast.

  3. Read the info panel

Check payouts for a natural, the stake range and whether the dealer hits soft 17. This is where the details that betPawa does not publish elsewhere are shown.

  4. Set your stake

Decide a stake you can afford and keep it fixed. If you use MultiHand, remember the stake goes on every hand. Add a side bet only if you want it.

  5. Deal and decide

You and the dealer get two cards. Compare your total with the dealer's up-card, then choose hit, stand, double or split. Basic strategy from the RTP section gives you the move.

  6. Dealer plays out

When you stand, the dealer draws by fixed rules. Beat the dealer without going over 21 and you win; go over 21 and you lose at once. A tie returns your stake.

  7. Settle and cash out

The result is credited to your balance straight away. If you win and want the cash, withdraw to your bank or mobile wallet, and read how long it takes on the withdrawal time page. If a week of casino play ends in a net loss, the 50% Casino Cashback is paid by the end of the next Friday, as cash with no wagering.

Tip: Question about a round? betPawa support is open 24/7 by live chat on the Help page, with a free callback, Facebook Messenger and Telegram as other routes.

Blackjack at betPawa: your questions

Does betPawa have live dealer blackjack?

No. Every blackjack table in the betPawa casino lobby is an RNG game with a virtual dealer, so you can sit down at any hour without waiting for a seat.

What is the RTP of blackjack at betPawa?

Two studios publish a figure: Blackjack by Galaxsys lists 99.47% and BlackJack MultiHand by Gaming Corps lists 99.46%. The two TaDa Gaming tables and Crypto BlackJack by Pascal Gaming have no published RTP that we could verify.

Can I play betPawa blackjack on my phone?

Yes. There is an Android app from the betPawa website, an iOS app in the Nigerian App Store, and the mobile site in any browser. The card tables use the same lobby on all three.

What are the minimum and maximum bets?

Table limits are not published outside the game itself. Open the table and check the stake selector or the info panel before you deal, because limits can differ from one studio to the next.

Does the 50% Casino Cashback cover blackjack?

The cashback is paid on net casino losses from Friday to Thursday, as withdrawable cash with no wagering. Blackjack sits in the casino lobby, and Virtual Sports are the only exclusion betPawa names, so the payout rules and the cashback page are the places to confirm the details.

Is there a poker room at betPawa?

There is no player-versus-player poker room. The Table & Card category holds video-poker style games instead, and the poker page walks through them.

What is the best way to play blackjack?

Use basic strategy, skip insurance, avoid side bets if your goal is the lowest house edge, and set a stake you can afford to lose before the first hand. Basic strategy is general maths and works on any fair RNG table.
